Univ Council Members
The Univ Foundation will establish a council consisting of 10 members who will adhere to the principles outlined in the Univ governance documents. These members will be equally represented by experts from the blockchain industry and the higher education sector. The council's primary responsibilities are to review and validate proposals submitted by $UNIV token holders, ensuring they align with the guidelines set forth in the Univ governance documents before presenting them for voting. Second, the council will act as an administrator to guarantee the proper execution of approved proposals.
Each inaugural council member will serve a term of 12 months. After the first year, the council will expand by adding 5 new members annually. $UNIV token holders and former council members are eligible to nominate themselves for council members for the next term. Annual elections will be held for $UNIV token holders to vote in new council members, with all council members serving 12-month terms. Council members may be removed from their position by fellow council members if they fail to act in accordance with the bylaws and the best interests of the Univ Foundation. The council's composition will maintain an equal balance between representatives from the blockchain industry and higher education to ensure a well-rounded perspective on the platform's development and growth.
